6/7 Grilled Jicama Sticks w/Black Pepper and Lime

Last night the air was still perfectly warm and sultry at 9 P.M. so it became an evening for dinner on the grill. I have been wanting to grill Jicama to see how it would taste, since I’ve only had it uncooked, so that is exactly what we did. The result was a side dish unlike any other I have ever had. They would also make a fantastic appetizer with guacamole. Yum.

The grilled Jicama with lime was both sweet and zesty with a hint of heat from the black pepper. They soaked up the fresh lime juice like a veggie sponge which helped them to remain juicy throughout the grilling process. I loved the flavor and the crisp crunch of the sticks. They were fun to eat and would be scrumptious along side a spicy faux Italian Sausage on a bun.
