Last night my friend Eric sent me the greatest link to a story called, “Feed any Vegan or Food Allergy-Prone Friend With Just A Few Simple Recipes.” It is a list of five entrees and five desserts sure to please the dairy dodging , nut allergic, wheat avoiding loved ones in your life. The greatest thing is that the recipes are all tantalizing and different than most. Dishes like Braised Coconut Spinach with Chickpeas and Lemon followed by Thai Mango with Coconut Sticky Rice. Yes Please.
If I was invited to a friends house for a dinner party and was greeted with any one of these dishes or desserts I would feel adored. Inviting a guest with a palate preference or allergy into your home to share a meal with you is like saying “You and your preferences are welcome at my table. I am aware of your needs and want you to feel welcome in my home.” Luckily, there are hundreds of thousands of free recipes floating around to make it easy and enjoyable for all of us.
