4/27 Preparations

As I look in our fridge I wonder… how many dairy laden things do we need to devour before the VE (vegan experience). How many ice cream sandwiches can we polish off in one week? How many eggs can we actually consume? I feel it would be morally wrong and financially irresponsible to throw out all things dairy that we currently have, so we are going through them little by little.  Besides, throwing out a half eaten box of Cheez-its would be tantamount to throwing out Sandy’s favorite Lands End sandals  without provocation.

In the meantime.. I have started to purchase vegan items like coffee creamer and soy cheese in a effort to transition effortlessly to the VE.  When I find things that are delicious and crave worthy I will write about it and put it under product reviews. If you know of a product, food or otherwise that is crave worthy, please let me know so I can try it and share it.

I think about this non stop now and find myself wondering…are tortilla chips vegan? Do waffle cones contain dairy of any kind if they come empty?  Where are we going to eat out? Is our local pizzeria going to hang up on me if I have the audacity to ask for pizza without cheese?

Looking forward to figuring it all out, together. Feel free to comment all things cool and email me. Lets start the dialogue!

  1. Jennifer Says:

Most tortilla chips are vegan as long as they are unflavored. As far as pizza, Buddy’s does a nice job with a no-cheese pizza, and Dino’s is not bad either. They are used to me by now. :). As far as a good creamer, try Living Bliss hemp milk. As for cheese, I’m not a fan of the soy stuff, I’m going to send over some cashew cream you can use for a cheese base…

Thank you Jennifer for the tips on the edibles and thank you for diminishing my fear of alienating Dino’s Pizza. They have come to our house more than my family. I want to stay in their good graces. I look forward to trying the Bliss hemp milk. Anythings claims bliss is okay by me.

The Cashew Cream you made is divine. I could eat it on a flip flop. I am putting the recipe in the Recipe section. I thank you…Vegan Wanna Be’s everywhere thank you.
